For those of you saying that Adele will end up like Amy...

What is that exactly? A drugged up drunken mess - lost and confused? No disrespect to Ms. Amy, but part of the reason she couldn't follow up her success was due to her personal issues. I don't see Adele ending up like THAT. Please.

As for her being a legend... only time will tell. Girls keep saying that she will end up like this one and that one, but I don't remember any of them TRULY dominating any year, tbh. They found success, but they weren't the #1 artist of their "breakthrough year," for example. If she keeps making good music, even if it doesn't smash as well as the music on 21, keeps her head on right and keeps getting respect from critics and the industry, then it's possible. It's really up to her. She could either end up like Leona (who I think still has a chance) or someone like Sade. Who knows?

Yes, but I see her getting 3-4 more significant hits from 21. The obvious 3 are Someone Like You, Set Fire to the Rain & Rumour Has It.

Many artists get their biggest single within their first few albums but continue to solidify their chart impact with other singles thereafter. I see her doing that. Rolling In the Deep will be the most remembered but she can & probably will continue to get sizeable hits. SLY is already approaching platinum pre-US release.

I ****ing love Adele and her entire dicography but I just feel that Rolling in the Deep was such a fluke of a smash, among all the dance pop #1's some how a quality song made it to #1 and I don't think that's going to happen again.

All I'm saying is this is the era of Adele and with her next album I don't think she'll see this success or even close to it. I'm saying it with sadness, too, because I love her dearly. It seems the world was hungry for good old music again, finally (!), but that won't last forever. And it takes more to be a legend in my opinion, that's all.

I'll be more than happy if the future proves me wrong.
