I agree that religion should be criticized when a terrible event takes place in the name of that religion. It is one of the only ways to push for reform, because it seems like most people are unwilling to reform corrupt institutions until enough people loudly demand for reformation.
If a non-Muslim is perceived as Muslim and subsequently attacked or harmed as a result, I would consider that Islamophobia. Criticizing a religion or its followers is not, however. If this bothers you, you're living in the wrong decade.
