Obviously you're speaking about me, and I want SYG to be as rule-less as possible (not sure what the f*** you're talking about lmao),but the fact is it can't be.
Mods like Lipton have tried to preserve the whole "say what you want" bit for SYG, but there are more mods against it.
Rules are being added.

It's not about being offended on the internet, idgaf you can trash any pop girls you want here and i wont care
im just saying that the fact that some people need a thread to speak those idiocies without repercussions and actually wanting to leave the site if they are not allowed to do so is the epitome of childish mess and a possible sing of personality issues. Like go to twitter and talk all you want, but no yall need a thread where someone will laugh at your "jokes" so you can feel superior and have a sense of integrity when in fact you are complete and utter... let me not, i dont have the time for this

not everyone takes it so seriously and can take it, though. obviously you know what that thread is for, and if it's not your cup of tea, then it's easy to avoid it. it should really be that simple.

as "the member who closed SYG." That is abundantly clear.
The fate of SYG doesn't really concern me, but if it is closed, there should be a legitimate reason behind it. Plenty of members only use SYG like a common area on campus to talk about music, movies, and television -- kind of like a gathering ground. There's really only a good few who take it to another level (which is fine, that's the point of SYG, afterall). But with registration recently opened, closing SYG, at this point in time, might affect the new members the most and hit them hard, so I'm trying to put forth a solution that can eliminate the racism in SYG (and on the forum) and keep the thread open for them. Racism shouldn't exist on ATRL, and while, personally, e-racism doesn't offend me in the least (we're on the web, expect racists and bigots), frankly, I'm tired of seeing everyone complain about it on ATRL, where it shouldn't exist anyway. So that's why I've taken this stance on the matter as an unofficial spokesperson for those who can't quite articulate their point on racism on ATRL. That being said, if racism cannot be prohibited from SYG, then it should remain closed.
It's still a bit shocking that this is even a discussion.
Who allows racism on a forum? What year is this?

i am avoiding it because i dont care about 15 year olds making fun of certain things. In fact i dont care about them at all, and they shouldnt be encouraged to do so to make them "more popular" and make other kids "mad" on a damn WEBSITE, like im seriously distraught at the lack of reason for having that thread in the first place
but mods can open it for all i give a ****, i just wont go there and its that simple. I just wanted to chime in cuz i just woke up and i need to get my brain working

I apparently took it too far, and now here we are.
If we have to follow a set of strict rules for a thread thats supposed to be vile, I rather the thread not exist at all.

I also agree how much more restricted this site has been. Obviously it seems that NHB is never going to be reopened, but ATRL was overall much more enjoyable when we at least had both NHB and SYG. Now we have all of these soft newbies who stay perched in SYG and complain. Blatant racism shouldn't be allowed, but the rest is fair game. Thanks Lipton for being the Obama of ATRL.
