The thing that sucks is that a lot of us are fine with her not touring for the next era now, but when it comes, if she doesn't tour with it, we're going to be disappointed. I really want her to tour again, but I understand this was a once-in-a-lifetime thing and that she'll probably never do a world tour like this again, or at least, for a really long time.
I think Europe and North America are both a given next time around, though. She's gotta tour here, or at least in the US and UK if she's really going to limit herself.
I'd be a lot more pissed if she just didn't release music for several years. I could probably survive with the touring thing because she promised to come back, but I'm not doing another 5 year wait for music because she'll have plenty of time to write another album.
EDIT: Also, I agree, it would really be a shame to see her pass on both the Super Bowl and the Inaugural Ball. I think the Inaugural Ball is more suited for her style of music than the Super Bowl, but her nerves on live TV still get to her. She better start stocking up on those damn crystals if she does it.
I'm not here for her actually taking a 10 year break.
Combine that frontloading with a rapidly declining album market, a seeming lack of desire to evolve to the new model and maybe even a new style of music... they'd be idiots not to make the effort to organize the thing guaranteeing the most success and profit for her going forward.
