A cringeworthy lip sync for Kenya and an iconic one for Latrice. The mixture of camp and emotion really lended to a great performance for Latrice. Standing in one spot completely serious singing to that fake baby bump. It was easy to forget she wasn’t actually pregnant.
A genuine classic in every sense of the word and truly a prime example of the power of Aretha at her peak.

An amazing lip sync by Trinity and April. Both did great, but Trinity really shone here. April made the mistake of lip syncing to the background singers parts too, which allowed for moments where she kind of looked like Trinity's background singer (the same thing happened with Tatianna in her lip sync against Jujubee). Trinity was serving beauty, elegance, and emotion.
A classic song by an often underrated vocalist and performer. Chaka really has some amazing material.

An incredibly underrated lip sync imo. Coco really killed it and Jade wasn't even doing that bad. But Coco truly matched the energy of the song and did so without crazy acrobats which is really impressive considering the song. Also that shot of the entire judging panel dancing and getting their life to this song is one of my favorite lip sync moments.
Another genuine 80s classic. I grew up on The Pointer Sisters because my mom loved them after seeing them open for Lionel Richie. They had a way of just really capturing the feeling of joy in a song. This is a flawless example of that as is one of my other favorite's of theirs "Goldmine". I don't know how a person can listen to this without feeling happy.

The last great final 2 lip sync. If Tyra hadn't won already, then this lip sync certainly got her the crown. That is how you do it people. You don't lip sync the whole season and then you turn it for the final. I usually hate when the queens go over to the judges table, but it just felt right for Tyra and really exhibited her nerve in general.
I don't think I can fairly rate the song because I just love Season 2 so much that the nostalgia is really there when I here this. I will say if I rate it against Ru's music it doesn't hold up well.

Final update in 15 minutes! Sorry for another long gap in updates but I'm a Werkin Gurl now. When I started this I planned to have the whole rate finished by Snatch Game at the latest and they crowned the winner last week.

10. Madonna - Vogue

I actually think this lip sync is a little underrated. Kenya wasn't really a presence in it, but Milan was pretty great. Like all of Milan's performances it got kind of messy near the end. But that sideways headstand while lip syncing was pretty damn fierce.
A goddamn classic in every sense of the word and one of the gayest songs of all time. Probably the sonic moment where Madonna truly solidified her status as Queen of Pop as well. It brought an underground largely gay dance style to the forefront of pop culture and the world has never been the same. My queen.

9. RuPaul - Supermodel (You Better Work)

A great song for the first ever lip sync on the show, but a pretty terrible first lip sync. Porkchop didn't even bother mouthing the words to half of the song and almost fell off the stage. And Akashia was just kind of there.
The song that launched Mama Ru to stardom and honestly probably the reason the show exists today. Also the only instance Ru ever paid for one of her older songs to be used on the show.
And congrats on Mama Ru for winning Season 1! Seems fitting.

Supermodel definitely deserved better than the lipsync it got but Porkchop should have stayed idc if she did worse than Akashia.

Easily the worst lip sync from a performance standpoint. Like this song deserved so much better. This could have been a double elimination. The Princess did better than Lashawn but like neither did Donna any sort of justice. The both basically just walked back and forth for the duration of the song.
Another iconic song (I know I'm using that word a lot, but it fits here) from Donna's most successful album. Not my personal favorite of hers, but still a disco classic.

Probably Ru's most successful song of the 21st century (I have no statistics to back this up, just a hunch) and one of his singles that seemed like it could have some crossover potential.
