Chart Notes: What a week! Easter ended and I finally passed my new music freeze. I gave up buying new music for Lent and postponed all music purchases from Mardi Gras until Easter. So, of course I bought a bunch of new songs, and they will be debuting within the next couple weeks or so.
Because of this, the songs chart is the most pop and female dominated it has ever been as I am now listening to and able to chart all the pop singles that have come out within the past 4-5 weeks or so. Strangely, even though I've been playing a bunch of new singles, Ariana and Major Lazer remain on top. Not only that, the lead increased and Major Lazer have taken over the recurrent chart with Bubble Butt (which just so happens to be Bruno Mars's best work to date!
"turn around stick it out, show the world what you got"
Obviously, there are a lot of new debuts here. Most importantly, is the debut in the number 4 position. MNDR & Killer MIke are artists responsible for two of my favorite albums (google them!) and I recently saw they collaborated. I have been thirsty for new music for both and had no idea they had a collaboration in the works so, I've been nerding out over their song. Unexpected, but best collab of the year so far! They will do well here.
A bit of a personal note, I usually listen to a lot of music in my car. Unfortunately for the last month or so, my car has been busted after an accident and nothing has been done about it (the insurance company's fault!) Finally, after more than a month, I am now mobile again and have gotten back to my normal routine. However, the auxiliary cable I use to play new music broke
so I haven't been able to listen to music on my ipod while doing all the driving I do (I live in Southern California so I do a lot of driving) so I've had to rely on radio and CDs. It sucks, but hopefully I will find a janky make-shift solution and rig up my auxiliary port to connect with my ipod.
As far as my music listening, I'm still on a break from Drake, but he might make a return after one more week (or if he surprise releases something else), but I have been ordering some new CDs (seen by the new Luke Bryan zinepak/ Spring Break compilation I got - thanks for bringing that to my attention Team Zunebrate
Glad my local Wal-Mart carried it). In the near future expect Kendrick Lamar to debut also. So, I also was going to get Big Sean's new album but haven't been able to track it down at Target (the two in town are normally so well-stocked, but his albums were all standard edition, only had one per store and were normally hidden behind D'Angelo and Kendrick's newest) and I realized that I live in Naya Rivera's home town so that may have to do with the general lackluster promo for Sean's album.
Anyway, that's enough for this week. See everyone around. Thanks for the comments.
