A hit single or promo doesn't mean that people are ready to buy the album. One may invest 1.29$ for the single you've heard on the radio but it's not very realistic that you'd buy the whole album based on one song, especially if you don't know any back catalogue by that singer. He definitely benefits from his own label as "White British Soulsinger" it's some kind of weird that the "White" matters - Emelie Sandé, hello!.
Anyway great achievement for him but it's just a mild overture for that what will happen in January with the new Adele album. And I predict now, if she comes back with a strong album, then this album will sell in 2015 almost as much as the rest of the year end top 10 together.
Lana doing also great, new sound, more than double her first week sales. For sure this time she won't reach the level of sales in Europe but I still see a great success especially in the US, so my guess is 4,5 millions WW when erverything is said and done.
