It is SO UNFAIR that glee songs get the exposure they get.
I mean, I dont care that they go on sale and that they are successful and all....
But what cant be good is to have 5 new songs released every week that have 12M people watching on TV.
It is unfair to the rest of the songs.
I mean, its like American Idol.... Release the songs if u want... but do not let them occupy the place of a real song.
I cant believe that 7 out of 10 songs inside the Top10 are Glee songs.....
I do not know if its more unfair or sad....

Y'all need to get over Glee dominating the Top 10 for a couple of days. There's nothing you can do about it.

It doesn't really bother me either to be honest, it's happened so many times before you'd think people would know what to expect my now. I must say I do find it funny to see some songs fall so low, but I guess most of them will climb again when Glee peaks.

I tried to explain myself as good as I can.
I dont care about Glee selling and selling LOTS (whatever, that's what taste means, people can buy whatever they want)
I feel that is unfair, coz they get EXPOSURE EVERY WEEK, how are they not going to sell? They have 12M people watching the show every week.
It is unfair, coz 'NORMAL' music are in disadvantage against Glee.
I think people wouldnt like to see American Idol songs to be able to chart..... (I believe that would be unfair too.)
I mean, I dont care them being released, but keep them in their own part of iTunes.

zzmyth was saying that Glee songs should not be classified as real songs because they're essentially all covers and are not released under the traditional single format, they reach the chart ascendancies because they're featured on the TV show. They don't get radio airplay or have longevity like a normal song.

The only reason AI song sales were never made public is cuz the show-runners didn't want people to know who was ahead and who was behind in the voting.
I don't see how the Glee songs getting exposure and then charting is unfair in any legitimate sense of the word. Should they ban songs featured in commercials too?

zzmyth is absolutely right. anyone who doesn't see this, i dont know what to tell you.
Im sure the labels are upset about the glee weekly infestation of the itunes charts and most likely will try to do something to prevent this from continuing. American idol, which has LARGER audience is not allowed to chart on the us itunes main. and should be the same for Glee.
A song being in the top 10 on us itunes, by virtue, aids in the song's sales. This is detrimental to songs that are actually selling on their own merit but are not having the exposure in the top 10 that it needs to help maximize sales.

Exactly. It happens after every single episode, it's nothing we haven't seen before. It is quite funny to see new songs fall 8 or more spots because of the Glee take-over, but all songs do. Which is wy I am astounded by Rolling in the Deep. Instead of falling like all the other songs, it maintained its pace and climbed mutiple spots.

Again, it is not that AI songs are not allowed to chart, it's that the showrunners do not want them to chart. Once the competition is over there is a huge onslaught of AI songs because they are finally made public on the chart.

It's so impressive. She has not even started promoting yet, she's climbing based off the strength of the song alone because its AI is still quite low. In a week or two I think it will definitely be in the top ten, this is going to be an interesting year for Adele in the US.
