Bonus Points!
Question #9 -
This strong love ballad was released in 2008.
Whilst the song may have flopped, the album it came from did rather well (for her standards).
The DIVA behind the song is well know for her R&B love songs.
The video sees her walking away from a burning car...
Name that song.

Great choice to stick Janet in between two lower tempo records. It makes for a very dynamic mixtape that feels fun. The title however, doesn’t seem to support the body of work, however.
GetYourAssInMyBed
I was excited for a more indie approach here, instead of the usual generic crooner tunes. IAM’s o was a beautiful opening and perfect for your set, but Pass This On wasn’t the best choice in my humble opinion. I mean, are you seeing someone on the side? Kudos for being bold and making your EP about heartbreak, when it was supposed to be about love, though.
Kyle
Would of been much better if you opening with Tove Lo, Not On Drugs is great, and lead into Bebe.
Hands on Me is very out of place here. The title isn’t supported by the body of work, but great choices overall, would of been better without Ariana.
Already Gone
Fantastic song choices and you stuck to the theme.
Gabegabe
One of the most consistent of the selections. You couldn’t link us on YT though? Major deduction.
MusicKid203
// I didn’t see anything for him
Yvess
Followed a theme, kept the music sonically similar, and the overall flow was great. Awesome job.
Truth Teller
Great song choices individually, but they don’t flow very well sonically. YAS @ Amel though.
Whew, all great choices.
StephenNYMonster
Excellent upbeat and consistent EP. You managed to make it about love, without it being boring. Sonically the songs were synth and similar, and I appreciated that the most. Janet would of been a better opener, Katy, Closer.
Ferst
The songs here aren’t sonically similar and the flow isn’t that great.
JustLuke
Very strong upbeat record choices, sonically similar, and the entire EP feels great. It makes me feel like I’m in love.
EDIT: sis what is this Tina Arena song?
Theus
This wasn’t sonically consistent and, You Know I’m No Good was a misstep here.
Melvin
Very good mix that played like a modern pop album, instead of a mixtape. The music wasn’t sonically similar but because of the arrangement, it was okay going from song to song.
Fix your link, sis.
KeshaSpearsxo
I couldn’t understand anything in the first song so I couldn’t tell you if it was a love song or not. Major deduction.
Buddy
Your EP was cute. I think Adele was the perfect ending for it, and you did a great job explaining the different stages of a relationship here. The flow wasn’t very strong, but considering your explanation, it made perfect sense.

Guero -
Love love love these three picks. Very solid songs and all great artists. Nice explanation as well.
GetYourAssInMyBed -
Love that you took a more unique side of things and not only switched up the theme at hand, but even used a different style of music. That Robyn BOP is a perfect fit for this, even though I don't know the other two, the songs were good and also fitting.
Kyle. -
Yasss love that you took inspiration from Queen of the Clouds because Tove Lo's tracklist was set-up so well with the themes. All 3 songs are awesome and fit the three sections you chose.
Already Gone -
Mirrors and XO are both amazing (especially XO - so extremely flawless) and among the best from their corresponding albums, and Kelly's is also a nice treat. These picks aren't only true lyrically but also emotionally, as they all have the strong feeling of sadness, love and/or happiness that truly brings out the best in them.
Gabegabe -
All 3 songs are great, and this also reminded me of that beautiful Nelly Furtado track, but I feel like The Heart Wants What It Wants is kind of an iffy pick. It does have the element of love tied into it, though I don't feel like it's really the best pick for her. The Only Exception should've been a shoo-in for Paramore, too. Nevertheless, still a nice tracklist. Also, a future note: not everyone has Spotify.
Musickid203 -
???
Yvess -
Gotta admit that this is definitely the best tracklist of the bunch. These songs are so soft, loving and sincere. Great explanations as well, as it packs even more of a punch as to why this EP is well put together.
EuphorianSea -
This is realllllly amazing. Three great choices, and I was kind of confused when I first saw Everybody Talks without reading it, because it's not a love song to me, but putting it as the start of a relationship is perfect with the lyrics like "It started with a whisper, and that was when I kissed her." I love a good tracklist that represents a journey, and this is a flawless one - plus there's some great diversity.
Truth Teller -
I like your personal attachment and reasons for these tracks. They're all great and fitting to the theme.
StephenNYMonster -
Yassss I love how you put your own experience into these songs and didn't just choose them solely for the game. It makes it a lot more personal and it's not just an album, but like a mini story or something. The picks themselves are great, too, especially Hummingbird Heartbeat (though it would've been a spectacular closing song.)
Ferst -
I love a good second chance. Chapter Two is a great and deserving title, and all three songs are nice and the story behind them is awesome as well, and really makes the whole entry stronger as a whole.

It wasn't bad by any means, but it was pretty simple that was the downside. The theme you chose "R&B Love Ballads" is just so simple + R&B is known most for love ballads so this isn't really any type of unique theme. Y'know, it's like if someone did "Upbeat Pop Songs". However, I love the choices (especially Mariah ) and you definitely kept it on-topic and used some classics.
Guero:
This is a perfect starter entry for a simple challenge. You did a great theme, and the song selections are great. You went straight for R&B which ofcourse can't go wrong, and did so with 3 R&B Icons and some Queens of Love Songs (Alicia, Janet, and Beyonce). The entry was executed nicely, and down to the nail.
GetYourAssInMyBed:
I liked the cohesiveness and the anti-love you made for this EP, but not gonna lie I was left a little confused. The first two songs were confusing to me, and didn't exactly hit me as heartbreak songs. I don't know, maybe it had to do with the lyrics or the artist not being clear. However, it's the first challenge and you were unique and took a risk. Next time I'd just like it to be a little more clear, not that you have to do a straight-to-the-point song where even from the title you know what it's about.
Kyle.
This was smartly planned, and can I just take the time to say that "Not On Drugs" is one of the best Pop Songs of this decade, and I'm really really glad this got used. You coordinated 3 Pop Girls, but didn't do in the way the average ATRLer would do (just use 3 songs from Beyonce, Britney, and Gaga). I also like the fact all 3 of these songs are recently released, and it's an EP that could be passed off as a real 2015 EP. More importantly, I really use the theme.
Already Gone:
As with Guero, you hit the nail simply for what a first challenge should be. You picked a unique theme, included 3 songs that apply directly to it, and for the icing on top you did well thought-out explanations. You took your time and really put in work to make a first impression, and I use. The selection was also mainstream, yet among each of the 3 artists' most acclaimed tracks to date (although not that sure 'bout if Kelly's is).
Gabegabe:
I actually really like this playlist because you chose 3 beautiful songs, and gave a haunting theme. On top of that, I think it was unique you included those interludes + you reminded me I need to add Selena's single to my playlist. The only thing I felt was missing was the lack of a format and/or explanation. But it wasn't necessarily for formatting, because I know coding + styling is truly not easy to some people and they'd rather not have their entry become a mess, I just think a simple explanation would've been the final nail into making this the perfect introduction entry.
Musickid203:
I know you accidentally misinterpreted, but I can't give you a score when it didn't really follow by what was asked. I hope you don't get eliminated or anything & everyone is safe because enough people didn't submit, because it'd really suck to see you leave this early over such a small misunderstanding. Overall, you provided a theme + an explanation.
Yvess:
I like the fact you chose 3 songs you felt that defined what love is, but overall I felt like you could've went a bit further. You chose 3 female artists who all somewhat make similar music, and that conveyed a somewhat similar message in each. Although, the songs are nice and cheesy + capture the message of love.
EuphorianSea:
I really did like the explanation behind this most, and the fact that all the tracks were so different, yet I liked them all. You really were applying variety, but not in a messy and unorganized way. You also put the most into your explanation than all the 15 other entries, so there's no guilt in my mind of you deserving a perfect score.
Truth Teller:
Your theme was something really out of the box, but worked at the same time. As someone who lives for R&B, I like the risk you took with soft R&B. They were soulful and soothing, which is something great for a Love EP. The explanation was swell, and the only thing I thot was not superb was the font. It's serving idk, it just didn't come to my liking.
StephenNYMonster:
What I like is you related the EP to an actual experience, which was a risk but also something out of the ordinary. It worked out well, however -- the songs are good, and I personally love all of them. Hummingbird Heartbeat & Sweet Dreams especially were good selections, and the explanation behind the songs relating to your relationship at the time was nice.
Ferst:
The entry was pretty good, although some of it confused me a little with the theme being Chapter 2 and the 1st song really only having a lyric that describes being with someone a 2nd time. However, the song selection was good + the explanation was pretty decent.
JustLuke:
I liked the EP, though you could've expanded. I mean, they're 3 songs from Australian Pop Girls about love. However, this is also a nice thing as they flowed well together and were similar, which is a good thing when making a Love EP. I just think next time you should dig in deeper, and do more to showcase the EP.
theus231:
I felt like you could've put so much more into this EP, honestly. For one, three Nelly songs from the same album? Gal, maybe if this was 'represent an album' as a challenge, this would hit the nail but we were really looking for 3 love songs from various artists, albums, genres, or such that merged well together rather than 3 songs about love from 1 album. The lack of explanation also really bites, because I can't really form an idea as to where this EP is going other than they're 3 songs from one album about love. However, I mean you did the challenge and the songs all applied to love so a 7 is sufficient. I'd just like to see you do more next time with effort.
Melvin:
I really liked the song selection, the design of the entry was great, and you took extra steps all around. The time to format, the time to make a video meshing them in together, and the explanation described it perfectly. I didn't see anything wrong, and it overall did the challenge in a simplistic manner.
keshaspearsxo:
You provided 3 diverse examples of songs, and 3 diverse interpretations of love. The only thing that I would've preferred was them not totally being different, because part of an Compilation is similarity I guess, but that's really not a big deal.
Buddy!:
You created a decent title, with a nice selection, and a good explanation behind it. The only things I think could've changed is a better ending song, and make sure you click preview before you submit next time because all kinds of wrong code really threw off the entry. Otherwise though, you did well.

Guero - I think these all fit together really well. It's not my favorite but it works!
GetYourAssInMyBed - I enjoyed what you tried to do with the theme but I feel like going full on break-up mode is a little too much for a love theme.
Kyle. - I didn't like the title at all but I enjoyed all 3 tracks and I liked your idea behind it.
Already Gone - A surprising mix of songs but somehow they kind of mesh (maybe?) I like the title too and your explanations.
Gabegabe - This is cute, maybe a little more explanation next time though?
MusicKid203 - I feel really bad that you totally missed the point on this one. I appreciate that you at least tried to do something but surely you knew that I meant to use actual songs? I kept talking about what artists and stuff you can use, and everyone else was talking about it too.
Yvess - You didn't use the artwork I supplied, which was part of the task. Apart from that, I enjoyed 2/3 of your songs! It was cute.
EuphorianSea - This kind of came sideways at me, it was unexpected but in a totally amazing way.
Truth Teller - I found it a little cheesy, title especially, but all 3 songs mesh together well and fit the theme!
StephenNYMonster - It was a little predictable, but i'm glad you ended on Janet! Generic but good!
Ferst - It's a cute idea, very simple and to the point. I feel like your explanation + idea > the songs. But overall it's good.
JustLuke - Gal, i'm pretty sure we all expected Delta, seeing as she was in your avi. This was pretty good though, i'm hoping you can go into more depth next time around.
theus231 - I wish you put in an explanation! I like the songs though.
Melvin - Very creative as always! The dedication of making that video, very cute. I like all the songs too I think they mesh well.
keshaspearsxo - I like how you directly referenced the artwork in your interpretation, it's unique and clever, just what I wanted. Great song choices too! A strong first entry.
Buddy! - This is bursting with love, could do with a better title though. Apart from that I like it!

The links for the videos are a bit off because, for some reason, it wouldn't let me encode them I tried like 10 times and I just got aggravated and linked them

Pass This On is not about seeing someone on the side and O clearly fits the criteria of what I was going for if you read the lyrics.
I probably should have explained the songs a bit more but my problem in season 1 was mainly that my explanations were too long so I didn't want to push it
