I have some interest in:
ABC: Death of Eva Sofia Valdez - Gina Torres, though does Suits mean she might have to be replaced? Intriguing plotline too and diverse cast.
Spark - Alternate history aspect, battle for power, Lena Olin.
NBC: Good Place - Kristen Bell her power.
Cruel Intentions - SMG her power.
Time - time traveling powers.
Fox: Making History - Leighton Meester.
CW: Riverdale - Archie.

Should Death of Eva Sofia Valdez go to series, she would leave Suits.
And the more Kristen Bell the better

Oh I do hope the ones that I like the sound of are picked up. Unsuccessful pilots are still usually leaked online aren't they? As I'm sure I've seen pilots floating around youtube and stuff before for tv shows that weren't picked up.
Is there usually a maximum number of shows they pick up?
|
Some leak, not all. No max or minimum, just whatever the networks need to fill their schedules.

Great job Want to see CBS and NBC's schedule so badly, Idk how they will handle with those tight line-up.
My pick ups for pilots -
ABC C : Dream Team, Speechless
ABC D : The Death of Eva Sofia Valdez, Presence
CBS C : Superior Donuts, My Time/Your Time
CBS D : Drew, Bunker Hill
NBC C : Time Crunch, Trail, Trial and Error
NBC D : Cruel Intentions, Untitled Dan Fogelman birthday dramedy
FOX D : The Exorcist, Star, Pitch
CW : Riverdale, Untitled Transylvania project

The Untitled Mars Drama on The CW sounds lit
But SpikeTV has Red Mars going in production this summer with the writer from Sense8 penning the series. Which has a similar premise as the one on The CW
The influx of space-related television series' has me shook. I'm ready!

According to Deadline, for the ones I'm interested in:
ABC: Death of Eva Sofia Valdez - Heating up. Ahead or already ordered are Designated Survivor/Marvel's Most Wanted/The Jury/maybe Conviction.
Spark - ...
NBC: Good Place - Series order.
Cruel Intentions - Buzz.
Time - Buzz.
CI + T may have to compete with Fogelman's 36 for the last slot or 2, given the likely-to-certain Chicago Justice/Blacklist spinoff/Emerald City/Taken already. If I had to choose, obviously Cruel Intentions.
Fox: Making History - Leads buzz for their comedy pilots.
CW: Riverdale - Frontrunner of the pilots.

Thanks for putting so much work into this thread, Lee!
Some intriguing shows potentially in the works. Let's hope the ones I like get picked up as full shows.
So many TV shows being adaptations/continuations/sequels to Films. This is neither a good or bad thing, depends on the execution. I didn't like Minority Report but I do enjoy 12 Monkeys, so you can never really tell until they make the show. In your list, they have the following pilots based on films, Frequency, Cruel Intentions, Time After Time, Training Day, Taken.
Also Designated Survivor is literally a show made out of something from a Tom Clancy Novel, Debt of Honor, where Jack Ryan became US President, cos the rest of the government are all killed in a terrorist attack! I need to check it out, just to see how they execute this idea.
The shows I am most interesting in checking out from their brief descriptions are Cruel Intentions, CW Mars Drama, Star, Recon, 24:Legacy, Time, Training Day, Taken, Designated Survivor.

I'm interested in these:
Hail Mary
Conviction
The Death of Eva Sofia Valdez
Designated Survivor
The Jury
Doubt
Quote:
Centers on a lower-level U.S. cabinet member (Kiefer Sutherland) who is suddenly appointed president after a catastrophic attack during the State of the Union kills everyone above him in the presidential line of succession. The series is described as a family drama wrapped around a conspiracy thriller about an ordinary man in an extraordinary situation.
|
Omg. I was just thinking last night that someone should make a book or film or show where the entire line of presidential succession was wiped out. Excited for this!
Quote:
Real Good People (formerly untitled Stephnie Weir) (Multicam)
A conservative, small town family is forced to reconcile their values when they discover their children’s lives are less than perfect.
Starring: Nick Zano, Lenora Crichlow, Ross Kimball, Beth Hoyt, David Keith, Lindsey Gort, Betsy Beutler, Julie White, Carolyn Hennesy (recurring)
|
Screaming at this literally being The Real O'Neals without the word "gay" in the description.
Quote:
MacGyver
A reimagining of the television series of the same name, following a 20-something MacGyver (Lucas Till) as he gets recruited into a clandestine organization where he uses his knack for solving problems in unconventional ways to help prevent disasters from happening.
Starring: Lucas Till, Addison Timlin, George Eads, Michelle Krusiec, Joshua Boone
|
Sounds like an I-won't-watch, but I might have to if it really stars Lucas Till.
Quote:
Powerless (Single Camera)
Set in the DC Comics universe full of superheroes, villains and people just like us, Powerless is described as an office comedy about the exceedingly average employees at an insurance company and their quest to find their own power. Based on characters from DC Comics.
Starring: Vanessa Hudgens, Alan Tudyk, Danny Pudi, Christina Kirk
|
Vanessa Hudgens in a superhero comedy??
Quote:
Time
The high-octane drama follows an unlikely trio who travel through time to battle a master criminal intent on altering the fabric of human history with potentially catastrophic results.
Starring: Matt Lanter, Abigail Spencer, Goran Visnjic, Claudia Doumit, Patterson Joseph, Malcolm Barrett, Sakina Jaffrey
|
Not a Legends of Tomorrow knockoff. How does a show that **** have a knockoff?
Quote:
Making History (Untitled Sharpe/Lord & Miller, In Time) (Single Camera)
Centers on three unlikely friends find an even less likely way to travel through time, irreversibly complicating their personal lives in 2016, as the great moments of the past collide with today's popular culture — with hilarious and quite disastrous results.
Starring: Adam Pally, Leighton Meester, Yassir Lester
|
Leighton.

Tom Clancy already did this with his Jack Ryan novels in the 90s. I am interesting to see how the show implements this.

It won't keep its numbers up as it's gone down basically every season for over a decade, but the rate of decline hasn't been bad since 9 years ago so it's still been a hit every season.
And it's CBS's #3 show right now, with Big Bang less sustainable as an eternal show.

Just had a thought. I wouldn't be surprised if NBC does SNL Weekend Update Thursday again next season before they get Thursday Night Football in November (and the election). Shame Colin and Michael are the hosts (unless they change it for next season or for this "spinoff". Too early to petition for Amy and Seth to do it again?)
