I don't know where ATRL got their definition of racism. Racism consists of both prejudice and discrimination and it is not necessary for the offending party to be at an advantage in society as a whole.

who cares? I know of no white people that go around all day thinking about skin color. The only people who do that, in my experience, are people who get jumpy and accuse you of racism just for looking at them.

Why do whites keep pulling out the dictionary definition of racism when it was written by whites, and we all know that white history is based on the genocide and enslavement of minority races! Whites don't have to ever think about racism, only when more educated people of colour call them out on their nonchalant ignorance. READ about it whites!

I feel the same way. My African side wants to support and be involved but I am half Spanish and we all know how much **** the Spanish did throughout history. Im in a weird place because there are times where I can laugh at white people getting made fun of and agree with some of the comments stated in this thread, but then get offended when they are made fun of too. I would hate for black people and latin american people to throw in my face what my ancestors did so I understand white people who dont want to be blame because of what their ancestors did. But then again its because of my ancestors that minorities are treated so bad

Those questions, I expected something else. I think racism is alive but I haven't found many people my age who are genuinely racist. Not saying they don't exist because Oklahoma and Arizona prove me wrong

Yeah this survey applies to Americans if you come from other country, specially Latin America it doesn't quite work because the racial realities are different.

The issue here is closing off your ears and saying why should I care what my ancestors did is missing the point.
And if you say this and pull off a diet racist sentence like: "Why don't blacks just get off their ass and work hard? I did." Or "black people are so oppression obsessed" makes this graph more valid and why we need to talk about it.
Despite tons and tons of statistics to explain why things are the way they are people still choose to remain ignorant on how systematic racism works. But with that said I wouldn't use any of these to be prejudice against random whites.

There are still companies around today that benefited from racism after slavery plus those white people then who made millions of slavery that money didnt fade into mist. It got past down to their kids and their kids kids and is still circulating today. Even after slavery ended black people still had little oppurtunities and the sad truth is black people have had equal right for 50 or so years my mom is 46 that means only 2 generations maybe have lived without segregation. So when white people talk about boot straps and all that crap that is a very racist tone to have because its ignoring the awful **** black people have been through in history.

I'm pretty sure every POC knew racism is still bad and we didn't improve as much as everyone wants us to believe. Only white people think racism is over and we're truly treated equally. I can't at the graphs though, white people think they're being discriminated against when its more beneficial and easier to be white than anything else in this world. (MOST) White people just love to believe they're being discriminated against when we try to stop white supremacy or repair the damages of past disriminations against POC and call them out for their bigoted thoughts & actions.
Even if white people are experiencing more discrimination its nowhere near to the level of everyone else and doesn't hold you back in any way

!!! And while jokes about white people may bruise egos, jokes about POC are based on stereotypes and keep reinforcing ignorant views cause they're not seen as individuals.
Both are wrong obviously but jokes about whites doesn't set you back or make people afraid of you.
