I don't have sympathy for that kind of stupidity. I'm just glad they didn't hurt anyone else i.e. other road users, pedestrians or animals. If they hadn't died or been hurt, they would have faced fines and other possible sentences for reckless driving, endangering others and/or property damage.
This kind of crap shouldn't have to happen in order for people to use their heads and drive appropriately.
Sorry, I don't mean to bump this but I really doubt the driver was texting while driving. She was trying to pass a slower vehicle while going into the oncoming lane.
I'm sure that it was one of her friends that was texting for her.. but if she actually was going into oncoming traffic while texting, I don't understand why anyone would do that.
I'm sick of cell phones while your in the car. R.I.P. but you can save text messaging, talking on the phone, until you get out of the car. Unless its for directions, but thats what GPS, Bluetooth, etc. is for.
P.S. and if they're only 18 or so, I bet they WERE NOT asking for directions.
