It's not a good song and by Gaga standards, it's underperforming pretty badly ATM. I won't call it a flop just yet though

This is an underperformance for her level of star power and the song is mediocre
on the other had its being dragged harder because it is her

The reason she's getting dragged is because that the monsters got way too cocky and so did Lady gaga so i guess it's karma.

It's because the Monsters hyped it to the high heavens and ripped anyone who doubted her in the beginning. Once the shitshow began, most people jumped on the bandwagon, including the Monsters themselves.

It's being dragged for two reasons.
1. It's genuinely a bad song, let alone a lead single choice.
2. In the weeks prior to Applause being released, the little Monsters were all saying things like

So not only did Gaga release a bad song, she also didn't live up to the expectations of her fanbase, or any fanbase for that matter. The other fanbases are just giving the monsters what they've been giving us for years.

Yes mostly. But there are artists who are expected to do well on opening week. If it would have been first single for Taylor with same result, there also would have been lot of dragging. Same for Adele, when Skyfall was released and didn't sell tons, I remember threads like "Is Adele over?" etc.
Looking on all aspects Applause underperformed, for Gaga single.

No, but that is the biggest reason. People are also dragging the song because it's her worst lead single and didn't debut at #1 with 1M+ sales.

And, to answer the question, yes. The other stanbases are doing the most because they know their faves have zero integrity, songwriting ability, versatility, critical acclaim, or global appeal when compared to the queen of pop. It's pathetic and everybody can see right through it and they should just stop.

Yup, because of the way she talks about her music. "Art this, Pop that, reverse Warholian this, pop culture that." You would expect her to deliver a song that isn't so basic and painful to listen to.
