Karmin's Hello makes it to my #15 of Tops Albums of 2012! Karmin debuted onto radio this year and I have to say that I enjoyed their first two singles, Brokenhearted and Hello.
Likeability: 8/10
I'll give Karmin a rating of 8/10 because the songs have nice vocals overall with fun beats to listen to. I definitely do feel that Karmin deserved a bit more commercial success on Hello, but at the end of the day they are still a great duo!
Quality: 7.5/10
Seeing as how this is an EP, I'll be a bit more lenient on their score and I'll give them a 7.5/10. Overall they do have a first two good single, but rap isn't something I really like to listen to. But, I do like how they incorporate rapping with singing in a nice balance throughout the song, thus giving the listener a nice slice of each talent they have to offer.
Three Good Songs:
I enjoyed three songs of this album, and they are as follow in ranking:
I actually enjoyed Coming Up Strong quite alot! I think this seems to be the only song with Nick's vocals on it and I think as a duo they should incorporate more songs with them both singing.
Overall: 7/10
I like their songs, but I am not drawn into them completely. I think the main thing they need to do it incorporate more songs with both of them singing as it brings a nice tone to the song.
Come Away to the Water by Maroon 5 ft. Rozzi Crane makes it to #80 in my Top 80 songs of 2012! On the first listen I was wowed that Maroon 5 even did a song like this as it gives me a different taste of what they can do besides their pop music.
Quality: 8/10
A nice song to listen to, especially after watching the Hunger Games! Throughout the song, I just like how it has this low tone to it while Maroon 5 and Rozzi Crane sends a chilling feeling down your spine throughout the song! The song has a nice touch to it with two voices singing back to each other which I enjoy!
Likeability: 6.7/10
This song is not instantly likeable on the first listen, and I think it needs to be listened to a few times before being able to truly enjoy the song.
Re-playability: 6/10
Great song but I only replayed it for a while after watching the Hunger Games, but after listening to it again I may start listening to it once more.
Overall: 7/10
Overall, I enjoy the song especially as part of the Hunger Games mindset. But I am not insanely in love with the song, but I enjoy it enough to recognize it as one of the tops songs of 2012 on my list.
Kelly Clarkson's Stronger makes it at #14 on my Best of 2012 Albums! This year she came out with a big hit named "Stronger" which blasted its way through radio!
Likeability: 7.5/10
A solid album, Stronger sets Kelly Clarkson for nice songs ranging from her three singles, Mr. Know it All, Stronger, and Darkside. Its an easy listen to get into her songs, but I am not a huge fan of this album. I do pick out a few songs I enjoy though.
Quality: 7.5/10
Nice album, but feel something is left out somewhat.
Three Good Songs
I enjoyed three songs of this album, and they are as follow in ranking:
1) Darkside 9/10
2)Stronger 8.5/10
3) You Love me 8/10
I really enjoyed Darkside alot, and it deserved alot more success than it received.
Overall: 7.3/10
Overall, I like some songs off this album, but I have never delved into this album completely. It doesn't catch my attention fully, but I do recognize she has good songs on this album. I do however feel some of them sounds the same, but this may be due to my lack of interest in the album overall.
