wouldn't a "lesser success" still be a flop in this case? BTW sold because it was Gaga and Gaga was the biggest name in pop music at the time. Look at the single performance after BTW the song and you can tell had anyone else released such an album it would've 100% flopped.

I don't think it would be good tbh, it would sell decent, but the songs are basically more about being young and being yourself and find out who you are etc. If Madonna would have released it the same time as Gaga originally did, it would not give the same message and also probably wouldn't target the people who Gaga reached with her lyrics.
