Unfortunately the latter has it own problems. People do want a president that know how to compromise when he/she is needed. Bernie not compromising wouldn't look too good imo.

Maybe it is just Republican rhetoric to scare the masses but they seem pretty terrified of Clinton. To the point where they've wasted millions of dollars trying to come up with something to screw her over. If she's screwed over.. the next option is Bernie Sanders, who, other than Huckabee, none have really gone after yet.

Well they'd still rather a Republican (that's not trump) win over Hillary. But if Hillary wins it's not the end of the world for them. Media can not touch Bernie because his values are pretty flawless and sensible. That's why media never cover Bernie's policies. They are so attractive that they can't be spun and twisted. They'd rather sweep it under the carpet.
