February 8th - February 14th, 2008
After securing his first career #1 on the chart last week,
John Mayer continues his reign as chart topper with the terrific
Say. Hot on his heels are Timbaland-appointed mega-group
OneRepublic, who have an equally good
Stop & Stare that could land them their second consecutive #1. With the remarkable resiliency of
Britney Spears and the surge of
Radiohead into the top 5, this weeks upper portion of the top 10 is truly a testament to the diversity I appreciably incorporate into my weekly chart.
Making career top 10 debuts are
Jimmy Eat World, who best the #13 peak of
The Middle, and UK-phenom
Leona Lewis, who continues her quest to conquer North American shores with the epic
Bleeding Love. Also making sizeable gains is fellow UK songbird
Adele, as well as
Foxboro Hot Tubs,
City & Color, and two of this weeks debuts, who should see very rapid ascensions up the chart in the coming weeks.
Speaking of debuts, we've got another 3 this week. The first comes from
The Kooks, who will attempt to score their first career #1 on the chart and best the #2 peak of
Ooh La with the extremely catchy lead single off their sophmore album,
Konk. Also releasing the lead single off their sophmore album is
Panic At The Disco, who will look to follow the success they so easily found in 2006, but this time with a deviantly sounding track that is quite a relief to hear. Last but not least, the lovely Miss
Alicia Keys, who will try to replicate her late '07/early '08 success of
No One, which spent 4 non-consecutive weeks at #1, with her latest.
