I'm happy she's doing this now in her career. She's still new, but established. She has the power to influence and inspire a lot of young people without too much risk. Yes there are a lot of inspirational songs out there right now, but Gaga has a spark about her to make young kids ~feel cool~ or comfortable about themselves.

On one hand I hate how there is no subtleness in the lyrics, but on another I'm happy there's no hiding behind the lyrics. She really spelt the message out unapologetically.

In the end, the production will make or break this song. I can already feel how fast and upbeat this will be. If the production is on point, it will really grow on people.

She's taking an enormous risk releasing a song as in-your-face as this, especially since it's not really representative of the album as a whole.

I have faith. Supposedly the second single was the "Slave 4 U meets 2011", "Repetition like Get Naked" song that the dancers were talking about. Jive made it a toss up between the TBA second single and HIAM and decided to go with HIAM.

What's the worst this could do? Top 10? There is such a huge gap between the first single and the album, they can put out 2 more singles if they wanted to.
