I wish they got real rock bands perform at the grammys, not Muse or arcade fire. why do Skillet, Papa Roach, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin songs **** on everything that is popular now but they have never received a Grammy award or performed at the show in their entire careers?

It bothers me that Muse chose to perform a song that is ineligible to re-enter the Hot 100, and quite frankly, is overplayed. Why not perform "Undisclosed Desires"? It's the current single at Alternative and Hot AC radio. I wish they'd also send it out to Top 40 stations.

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards was up over last year’s telecast, which aired January 31, for its best total viewer tune-in since 2001.

The show — which aired from 8-11:30 p.m. on CBS — was watched by 26.5 million viewers, according to preliminary numbers from Nielsen. That’s a 3 percent uptick compared to last year’s Grammys, which pulled in 25.8 million viewers and another high note for the recording industry kudo-cast.

The telecast, which was chock full of performances with mercifully short acceptance speeches, posted a 14.8 rating in households with a 9.9 rating among the 18-49 demographic and a 9.1 rating in the 18-34 demo for year-over-year increases of 1 percent and 4 percent, respectively.

Those numbers give the Grammys its best tune-in in those demos — as well as households and the 25-54 demographic (10.0 rating) -- since the 2004 telecast.

Those bands you mentioned are trash compared to Black Keys, Arcade Fire, and Muse. They are nothing but post grunge ****, and Im happy that post grunge is dying out now. If I wanna listen to Breaking Benjamin Ill just through on an Alice In Chains record.

Still humored that Arcade Fire won Album when they lost to Black Keys in Alternative. And I do wish Brothers had been up for Album of the year, really. At least it wasn't Katy or Lady A (or Em really) so I'll take it ^_^ I was already pissed that Lady A would take it and we'd have two straight years or piss poor "country" albums winning major awards for no good reason.
