Trainspotting is really good.

Some of it is written in colloquial Scots English tho, not the easiest read and that's before you get to subject matter..

Did you know that The Leftovers is based on a book by Tom Perrotta? That’s the guy who wrote Little Children! The book is even better than the movie b/c it goes into Kate Winslet’s character’s lesbian past and Jennifer Connelly’s character is more fleshed out. But I dumped him after The Abstinence Teacher. Horrible!

He also wrote Election.
