Katy has so much more potential than these cartoon graphics and cheesy videos, but her fans eat it up and so she's forced to continue it over and over again. Let the woman evolve for once.

Why should she have to? She can do whatever tf she wants. Obviously it's working for her.
And the only reason we fall back on that is because people are constantly using it as a drag because it's all they've got. That she panders to children. The whole GP used Roar and Dark Horse. They both hit #1, even with their "childish" videos. 6-9 year old girls aren't the entire general public. I feel like a broken record always using this argument on ATRL, but you can't have it both ways. You can't discuss Disney movies, Pokemon, Frozen, The LEGO movie, Spongebob Squarepants, Rugrats, Sailor Moon, etc. as obsessively as you all do, and then when it comes to Katy Perry, all comprehension of what "General Audiences" means miraculously goes flying out the window.
Either you understand what general audiences means or you don't. Something having wide-spread appeal and being child-friendly doesn't mean it's exclusively for children. I'm going to one of Katy's 6 Sydney shows with my friends. I'm going to get mad drunk and party/dance with them. Then I'm seeing it again with my sisters and 7 year old niece. That's wide-spread appeal.
Also, 30 is still young. There's no rule saying she has to start making music videos that are dark and blasphemous in order to be taken seriously.
