I. Clover****
First off, I saw Cloverfield its opening night at 11:30 P.M. I got to the theater at 8 expecting tickets for 10, but yeah, ****ing hounds
. Long story short: most of you have seen Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch Up" video, right? Imagine all that buildup without an awesome ending.
I actually threw my popcorn in rage... I mean, I had my friend mix liquor with the slurpee I bought, but sober or not, it was a HUGE letdown and I wished I'd saved my $12. But hell, no antisocial Fridays right?
II. Lil' Wayne
I've known this mother****er was hot for a while (albeit I was a bandwagon hopper and hated him circa "Fireman"), but this weekend, among all the Weezy songs I already have downloaded, I stumbled upon greatness. The first "new" song I DL'd was "Burn This City", an awesome would-be street anthem that samples
Franz Ferdinand's "This Fire". That said song is amazing in itself, but then I heard "I Feel Like Dying". Words can't really explain how truly melancholy and depressing that song is, download it for yourself and be sure to listen to it alone. ****in creepy, yo.
III. Best Friends Become Strangers, Word Up
OK, so I recently decided to IM this kid whom I'd known since the fourth grade. He was basically my best friend until he started to become a real **** up, got too hooked on the green, transferred out of school and...to this day, I don't even know if he got his diploma or GED at that. We were ****in
tight at one point, and I don't know how a person can unravel this much, but this little dialogue scared the **** out of me. Tell me if you think he's far gone or not.
