This debate made me realize how disappointed I am by the direction of the Democratic Party. Our party, and both candidates, looked like captive circus clowns that pandered and peddled to any minority voter that was out there. The phrasing of the gotchya questions about deportation and the reunification of famalies forced the candidates to give answers that required NO nuance. The moderators, and these voters, weren't ready to hear how nuanced and complicated these answers are, but would rather be satisfied by a yes or no answer with a full stop period. It is one of the first times in a long time I feel ashamed to call myself a democrat.
