I was in the ThatGrapeJuice comments section at the time. I will NEVER forget the day the sales were announced. And I've survived Bionic gate, but Basic Instinct release week was something else
I still bought 3 copies to support my girl though and I'm proud to see her still standing, stronger than ever and as one of the leading urban girls

I remember this being the biggest flop back then, I mean Bionic wasn't that bad, it was the GaGa scandals that didn't do her good....and then everyone started out-flopping each other

If streaming counted when Ride was released, it might have went Top 5
"Ride" would have been so damn huge. I mean with the video being banned and considered really controversial at the time, it would have exploded if streaming was included back then. Especially since "Ride" was huge at radio too.

That's so true. Ride was snatching on radio too. It probably could have went #1 honestly. For a R&B artist, Ciara has so much streaming power. You should see how long it takes K.Michelle, Tamar, Jhene, Seyvn and others to just reach 1 million views
This is why I need Ciara just to have one solid pop hit and just explode as an artist back to her early 2000s level of relevance or more. I need her on the VMA, AMA, Billboard and Grammy stages over this era and future ones again.
She'll have pop songs on the album. Hopefully the next single is an urban crossover (Problems, IDFWU, I Don't Mind, etc) followed by a pop smash with urban appeal (Dark Horse, Happy, Uptown Funk, etc).
Btw, she already has 13 (soon to be 14) R&B/Hip Hop top tens
This might get even bigger, jermaine dupri is talking about possible suing the producer's and ciara for this song, because they said it sounds like a complete rip-off(which is a lie) of you got it bad.

she's the biggest urban female artist, of course she slays
I still remember waiting for Ride to go top 40 and it stopped just outside
