It's not being a sensitive monster, it's knowing your claim is utter bull. Shakira did worse, Britney did worse, Ke$ha did worse, Madonna did about the same, Lorde and Miley did about the same IIRC, most UK pop stars in general do worse, Selena and Demi did worse, Mariah did worse, and god knows I'm forgetting to list PLENTY of artists. Are they being "fired" from pop music? Get some perspective on the state of the music industry - like five or so female pop stars have done better commercially than the ARTPOP era with their most recent eras. "The public didn't respond" but she's still roughly in the top ten female pop artists on earth. Explain that?

Lady Gaga isn't "leaving pop music." The public (her boss) fired her, so she's "resigning" to save face.

the direction she would like to take is classic rock & power ballad

TEOG and BN are both power ballads. Both are influenced by classic rock. What's so hard to understand?
Your attempt at being the cool, musically educated, 'real rock' snob failed.

Am not seeing the problem still. Y'all are some over dramatic queens. She won't leave pop.
And besides, power ballads are amazing, and they clearly suit her.

The ones you have quoted are not coming from a 6M album seller.

By the way, don't forget to change no$tradamus into Nostradamus.

This is literally a great thing, as long as she holds true and actually commits to it. This website and their taste.

Well we all know she loves rock. She's a rockstar when she performs. Her voice suits rock/power ballads really well. She will slay. Beyond excited as long as this isn't added to the list of Gaga lies

Well if she goes to a more traditional pop/rock sound she could have more luck with the charts, fact is that PEOPLE DONT CARE ABOUT GIRLS SINGING DANCE TUNES ANYMORE, Rihanna's last couple of hits were a piano ballad and a pop song (diamonds is not dance, unless you remix it) Katy's hits are all pop or experimentals, britney flopped hard woth another dance album
So is not so much as she is "leaving" dance, the thing is dance music is probably over for the people who want to have long careers, it can work if a catchy tune from X artist is catchy but other than that it will hardly work
Gaga won't do Rock music per se, she'll most likely do pop rock like what sounds inspired a song like tbe edge of glory, she is not "leaving pop" she is leaving dance, and it's a predictable choice, Dance ia pretty much over now...

And yet that's not the point. She still fared better commercially, so it's baseless to say things like "the situation is like an employer letting and employee go". Like nuh-uh. Illogical and baseless unless alll those stars are getting laid off by that employer for consistently having lower selling albums and singles on average than Gaga. See my point? That it's ridiculous to paint her as the giant flop who "got fired" from pop music and is trying to save face, particularly when she's indicated strong interest in these musical styles since before The Fame even happened?

Wait, did I just actually see Retro going IN like that?
Microwave ha!
You told the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth! She did quite good, especially since the second single didn't get a video, there were a lot of problems e.g. with her manager, etc.
Gaga's peak was so big and she's still Interscope's biggest money maker, so there is no way they are going to fire her. Come back when all your fave's tours since their debut make $100m... Touring is where the money is earned, she still makes them a lot of profit
Also, I don't really see her leaving pop, I see her experimenting with different sounds/influences and maybe put out a rock album next to that at a later stage in her career

But they remain pop songs, it's different of "I'm going to take a classic rock direction" where you can get a complete and real rock sound.

those are amazing songs and I'd be here for it, but I don't think they're even close to "rock"

I mean...
They all said her career was over anyway - why not go a different direction?
She can't win
