I just find this song very bland. There's nothing going for it, for my anyways, and I found it a weak single choice. It's popular among the fan base and it is one of Carrie's most country songs released to date. There's really nothing more to add. Made no impact and nothing memorable about it except it was Carrie's first song not to go #1 on country. Also somehow it won the ASCAP Country Award for most performed country single of the year.

Y'all are wrong for this. Last Name is a drunken celebration of too much alcohol, one night stands and bad decision making. It's one of Carrie's most critically acclaimed singles getting positive reviews from: AllMusic, Rolling Stone and Billboard. It also earned Carrie several accolades including the 2009 People's Choice Award for Country Song of the Year, the 2009 Grammy for Female Vocal Performance of the Year, the 2009 BMI Songwriter of the Year and the 2010 CMA Triple-Play Songwriter Award. It's an incredibly fun song with so much to love about it. It gets everyone going on their feet all the time and is sure to be a crowd pleaser at a party.
