gagas first single will do better, wrong so they move onto
gagas album will have better first week sales, wrong so they move onto
gagas album will be more consistant in selling, wrong so they move onto
gagas tour will gross more money than katy, so far the numbers are in katys favor sooo...
they've moved onto attendance percentage. like the thirst is real

Do you know how averages work? To get an average, you take all the numbers and add them up and then divide by how many numbers there are. We only have two box scores so of course the average is going to be low right now. It will rise as more numbers come in.
Think for a moment before spouting off.

No they didn't give away the tickets for free at all.
I'm sure gaga sold those 11k odd tickets.
It's just that this thread if filled with people that don't know how this all works. The Philips Arena has a capacity of 18k for concerts.
Gaga's stage and runways don't take up 7k worth of seats. The promoter simply sets the capacity of the amount of seats that were sold. - But look, this isn't any hate at all - It's not exclusive to gaga. Lots of artists do it - If you look up the receipts you'll see they all play to a different amount of people in the same Arenas
The promoter sets the attendance so it reads "sold out" so there's no point in salivating over those magic words. - Wait for the gross.

No. And no.
Only 4 North American concerts from the Bangerz Tour (Los Angeles, Dallas, Orlando and Montreal) were reported by Billboard and the average is $977K per show. Only 5 NA concerts from the Born This Way Ball [Vancouver (x2), Tacoma, Portland and San Jose] were reported by Billboard and their average is $1.29M.
Besides, how exactly are you happy with the shows being sold out yet wonders if tickets were given away for free? As for the Edmonton concert, there's absolutely no doubt it was 100% sold out as confirmed via official press release back in December 2013 ( http://investors.livenationentertain...ut%20FINAL.pdf).
Also, Billboard's reports are usually higher than Pollstar's, so let's wait for them and more than just two shows to talk about "average" gross.

MDNA Tour
Atlanta, GA: Phillips Arena 13,504 / 13,504 $2,379,792
Pop stars don't attract that many people in North America as they do in other parts of the world.

This has nothing to do with Madonna. But you're right. As i said in my original post it's not exclusive to gaga. I said they ALL do it......
On point though, the capacity of philips arena is 18k for concerts and promoters change it so, let's celebrate gross rather than attendance. seems reasonable, right?

You always hide behind "it's like this for every popstar" yet only post these types of things in Gaga threads.
There are two types of people: those who seethe in public and those who seethe in private while acting like they're fine in public.
The queen keeps getting everyone bothered.

I'm not going to believe them, but the people over at ukmix seem to always have tea before anyone else so maybe they're real.

It does, because we're talking about all pop stars as you said. I think it makes the most sense to then give an example using the biggest female touring artist.
I think it's important to look at both. Promoters won't sell more tickets in places where female pop artists won't sell as much — the US being such a place. Places like NYC, LA, and Chicago are probably the exceptions.
