I'm legitimately offended by this album, both as a Gay and a Middle Amurican.
like on one hand, how dare you take off your meat dress and stop doing outrageous **** and throw an electric guitar on it all and think that you're somehow magically going to appeal to ~Middle America~. It's patronizing as hell that this NYU-educated woman, from her affluent Manhattan upbringing thinks she can drop a synth and become a country star. It's so put-on and out of touch that as someone who grew up in the type of place she's trying to appeal to I'm actually insulted.
And at the same time I'm also, as a gay man, offended by her taking her largely queer fanbase for granted and through her actions stating that our fanbase is not good enough for her by trying to appeal to a completely different audience.
All of this could be forgiven if the music was good, but it's not. It's just another gratingly artificial transformation from a woman who used to push boundaries but now just tries on costumes.
People acted weird when I said Florence sung circles around Gaga when the Hey Girl snippet leaked. The full track further confirms that. Gaga shouldn't sing outside of her lane and not with someone who is a better singer.
Um no. Florence is amazing, but they complemented each other.
I love ready y'all's first impressions, but I'm waiting till Friday to listen. Don't y'all think it's a tad disrespectful to listen to it now especially when Gaga worked so hard for so long on this...
I pre-ordered 3 copies and Will get the Vinyl, I Think I respect her craft enough, I don't find it disrespectful at all
I knew diC will be one of my faves I loves it and omg at thise lyrics "i do a trick, pretend im you until it click, i come alive" OMG NastyGa is the best Gaga
ddd I don't even know what she's singing on DICk but whew those lyrics SCALP
