Yours would be considered a niche thread, and as such would be added to the queue of niche rates on the first page. So you have a bit of a wait in front of you.

Let me clarify: rates CAN NOT be started unilaterally. They have to be discussed here, and added to their individual queue. It's the FAIREST way to do things. I've let things slide before (The Avril Video Megarate, the Sweden Rocks rate), but enough is enough.

I was considering doing a Alternative/Pop Canadian Female rate?

Sort of similar to the New Sound of UK one, but with all Canadian female acts or female-fronted bands and a mix of pop, folk, indie, alternative, rock and R&B.

Can I make this? Although I am terrible at graphics

Let's go forward with this idea, but spin it out a bit.

I've been thinking of some sort of O Canada! Modern Sounds from the Great North rate.

Basically, ten/fifteen of the biggest and/or most interesting acts of this new millennium and their singles.

So, really all inclusive. I like your idea, but it sound be co-ed - that way Arcade Fire could play.

Just off the top of my head:

Feist
Justin Bieber
Tegan & Sara
Japandroids
Destroyer
The Weekend
Carly Rae Jepsen
