Your point - it's because, for the past four hundred years, the main "story" of this country has been White and Black. Many people still think of this country as a binary, as if only two skin colors/ethnicities exist. It took DECADES for Black entertainers to be on the same level (they still aren't.)
Your "excuses" are pure victim blaming - it is unconscious/systemic racism that has kept Asians completely separate from American popular music. No other reason.

Expect I disagree with the "no other reason part". At least as it pertains to Japan. It's the largest Asian industry by far and they themselves are xenophobic and have purposefully tried to keep their work in a bubble. It's only so popular in the west because of the internet. Although they've started to become more invested in a world market, they've wasted a lot of time
