This was the first time actually listening to this in full, and I have to agree!
I can see the falsetto getting on my nerves in time, but at the moment, it sounds really cool. I never paid attention to it when I saw it on iTunes when it was really popular.

I'm glad the public has started to value quality productions over cheap radio fodder.

I love Samantha Jade, but I can admit when a song is good from one of my favourite artists and when it's not. Firestarter wasn't the best lead single. I mean it just wasn't very strong. Soldier is much better, but it's still not exactly what I wanted from an artist like Samantha Jade... she needs to be doing upbeat, fun pop tracks - that aren't basic or generic - and she's only delivered that with What You've Done To Me, the single she didn't even write.

She loves DNA so I can't see her ditching them, but they just need to STOP. I mean, they're cranking out basic beats to any artist willing to work with them, which is essentially half of the Australian music scene.

I read that she worked with Max Martin early in her career. She needs to call him up and get herself a 12 week #1.

This is what I utterly DESPISE about the Australian music scene. Every male or band of males that releases music is praised, thought to make good music, etc. yet every female is basic and generic and filler. It's stupid. Birds Of Tokyo have a few good songs but at the end of the day they're just generic in a different way. You don't have to be making dance-pop to be a generic filler music act.
