I hate when former child stars act like this At least be grateful that even if you never worked again, you'd still be richer than the vast majority of the world, all because of your EMBARRASSING child career. It's even worse in Miley's case considering everything was handed to her on a silver platter--affluent and connected to the industry since the day she was born.
You don't see Justin pretending like NSYNC was the biggest embarrassment ever, or Emma Watson acting like Harry Potter was the biggest embarrassment ever, or Hillary Duff with Lizzie McGuire etc. It's called class.
None of those that you listed produced a pop star under a different name outside of herself. Hilary Duff had a short music career and she didn't go on stage with the brand "Lizzie McGuire". In Miley's defense Hannah Montana was geared specifically towards pre-teens and younger. NSYNC and Harry Potter were loved outside of that demography and to a much lessor extent than Hannah Montana.

And she wrote on it a whole lot more than Bangerz. Shes the lead writer on every track and if Im not mistaken wrote some (almost) by herself, so I dont understand why shes disconnected from it.
Oh well, that was her "I wanna be a rocker" phase Ill just wait for her "I wanna be Urban" phase to end. I just hope she doesnt disown everything. Is every album she put out gonna be her debut album

I don't think the "I wanna be a rocker" was just a phase since she uses rock elements in her live performances to this day.

This is a good point, it seems more than likely that it's Disney is doing this because they're afraid of Miley Cyrus' association with the HM brand tainting its image with all the controversy surrounding her as of late.
It's pathetic, Disney made you famous, those songs gave you some kind of recognition back when they were released. I like Miley, what she's doing is kinda great, she's growing as an artist, but don't bide the hand that made you famous. Hannah Montana was iconic, more iconic than anything she will ever do. She needs to stop, mature a little bit and embrace her past.
She would be nothing without Hannah Montana. It's a shame that she wants to act like she had nothing to do with it.
