Lush Life is fine, but I don't really care to play it that much.
Let Me Love You is lowkey just as agg as the Beaver track
LMLY is GOAT
Lush Life is her best song
Back to Me is sexy
Album: Suicide Squad
Plays: 25
Genre: Hip hop
After gaining notoriety for ballads such as Love the Way You Lie and Coming Home, an all out rap song was a huge Surprise from Skylar. She might be no Kendrick, but Skylar holds her own on her rap verses and provides catchy vocals at the same time. The highlight is the war-like percussion filling in the holes of the track.
#69: Gwen Stefani - Getting Warmer
Album: This Is What the Truth Feels Like
Plays: 25
Genre: Electropop
I have no idea why this gem is hidden away on the Target deluxe of This Is What the Truth Feels Like. The chiptune-esque synth in the post-chorus worked surprisingly well over the electropop production of the track and Stefani's understates vocals effectively display a sense of longing for love after loss.
#68: The Chainsmokers/ROZES - Roses
Album: Bouquet
Plays: 25
Genre: EDM
Following 2014's surprise hit "Selfie", I never thought I'd hear from The Chainsmokers again, much less on a fresh, emotionally capable electronic cut. Although I prefer follow up hit Don't Let Me Down for its boppable qualities, Roses was the introduction we really wanted from the duo this whole time (poor OTCHs).
#67: Atlas Genius - Refugees
Album: Inanimate Objects
Plays: 25
Genre: Indie rock
Like much of the alternative world, I was introduced to Atlas Genius through their 2013 hit Trojans. I then checked out their debut album, which contained gems like Symptoms and If So. Still, I didn't fully get into the band until earlier this year when I went to their joint show with Skylar Grey. Their shimmering mix of poppy synths and rock guitars provides a modern, effective twist on rock. Refugees is my personal favorite off Inanimate Objects.
#66: Kenny Chesney/P!nk - Setting the World On Fire
Album: Cosmic Hallelujah
Plays: 25
Genre: Country pop
After fellow pop/rock clone Kelly Clarkson featured on Jason Aldean's Don't You Wanna Stay, it appeared as if every B list pop girl and their mother was hopping on a country feature for crossover appeal. None, even Clarkson (seethe Temporal) have done it as well as P!nk. Although synthetic in nature, the song's guitar riff and minimal drums provide a sunny feel to the summery track as P!nk and Chesney sing about getting drunk in LA and taking pictures of celebrity lookalikes.
Wreak Havoc It's a pretty cool song, definitely unexpected from queen of soundtracks (well, only behind Ellie) but she did that a biT.
Getting Warmer Roses It should be like, top 20 though
