I agree with the drastic point.
My biggest problem with the album was how joyless it was.
With every album before she had bubbly feel-good anthems like Party In The USA and Let's Dance and Breakout, etc. The closest thing we got on CBT was Permanent December, which isn't even a "happy" song.
I think the public definitely would have been
somewhat here for CBT if it had a different lead single, and if it was actually promoted. It had great hype for such a polarizing album, and Miley's international popularity was at an all time high. It could have passed the 2 million mark worldwide if it was handled better.
More urban music seems to be making something of a comeback anyway. Britney made the full transition into adulthood with hip-hop on "Britney," maybe Miley will do the same.
