The artistic value and quality of the work always has to be placed above the probability of commercial success at whatever given time new music should supposedly be released to achieve such success imo. If she (or whoever else involved in the process) wants to take time to make this album and her new music work and the best it can be, then they should take that time.
If she didn't really want to release a single just yet, but somehow decided to do it anyway, and then the album itself was still far from being done, and schedules have to be thrown over several times and she can't do promotion properly because she has to rush back to the studio every 10 seconds for months, and once the album was released the debut single choice in hindsight was less than perfect.... THEN it would totally be a giant ****ing mess.
I'm 1000% sure that there are good reasons for the delay. Don't be so mad.
