Last.fm is to get new recommendations & have a social network based on music. Oh and to basically have a gigantic e-penis of your most played whatever. It works better with non k-pop acts since if you're listening to only k-pop, you're going to get recommended only k-pop.

I don't use Last.FM to get recommendations. I use it more to track all my music plays, from iTunes to Spotify to my iPhone.
