The reason Gaga asked Zedd to open for her was not because she liked him, it was because she wanted to work with him. ZEDD is signed to Interscope and they are currently pushing him on some of their biggest talent in order to make him the “next big thing”, which is why he co-produced a song on Bieber’s new album (Bieber has his own label under Interscope and is good friends with the head, Jimmy Iovine). Gaga and ZEDD are currently working together on what should be the first single.
Gaga’s new album is slated to be released in the Fall with a new single a month or so before that. Interscope are planning a “soft launch”, which is basically a launch with selected promotion and not promotion like Born This Way, which was overkill. Interscope held a “top secret fragrance party” earlier today, which means, like the new album, the fragrance is coming soon. If things go as planned, the fragrance will be released near the same time as the new album and there will be a deluxe, or special edition since Gaga doesn’t like that word, version of the album that will include the fragrance.
