A Men’s Rights Group files a request to ban Baek Ji Young’s “Good Boy”
An organization who call themselves the ‘Men’s Rights Group‘ has issued a request to prohibit the distribution of Baek Ji Young‘s new single, “Good Boy“.
On May 21st, the organization wrote via their official Twitter page, “Baek Ji Young’s “Good Boy” belittles all men, comparing the relationship with a man to a relationship between a dog and it’s owner.”
“The song is about an older woman who is training the younger man she is in a relationship with,” they continued. “The way the man talks back to the woman is described as ‘barking’, and ‘biting the owner’.”
“The MV itself even reveals a dog, giving the idea that men are treated as obedient dogs,” they added, explaining their reasons for requesting the ban. “Young men that listen to them obediently as well as dogs may be the fantasy of old women out there who dream of zooerastia, but normal, healthy men feel absolutely offended by songs like these. Even during a time where men ruled the world, men never treated women like dogs.”
However, Baek Ji Young’s representatives came to their own defense saying, “It is just a witty simile to describe the ‘bad guys’, it wasn’t meant to be offensive or belittling to men in any way.”
Netizens who heard the news wrote in response, “I guess it depends on how you listen to it…“, “Seems like good noise marketing for Baek Ji Young“, and “I guess it could be misinterpreted.”
In related news, the organization also previously filed a request to ban the movie “You’re My Pet” for belittling men, but the courts dismissed their case, ruling that they did not have a persuasive argument.
Well, they are right. The song talks about men being treated as dogs
G.NA's 2Hot video made me horny. I love the way it's so subtly sexy. When she's half-attempting to ***** pop in that short green dress, the camera is almost at enough of an angle to see her cat, but not quite. It's such a tease. I'm here for that. And those sexy muscular firemen, lawd.
Despite reports that T-ara‘s new members would be revealed with the group’s upcoming single, Star News reported on May 23 that the ninth member’s identity is now known.
New member Dani will become the group’s maknae at 14 years old. She’s been reported to have lived in the United States since she was 4 years of age. Dani will join T-ara before the end of this year, but she’ll be making an appearance in T-ara’s comeback music video in July, which is when the eight member is expected to officially debut.
T-ara will promote as an 8-member group until the final member joins.

YG has revealed its mystery final two signed members from K-Pop Star.
On May 23, YG Entertainment posted on its YG blog which revealed the final two to come on board were Lee Jung Mi and Lee Seung Joo.
In addition, it was revealed Lee Jung Mi and Lee Seung Joo, along with the previously cast Lee Ha Yi and Lee Michelle would form and debut as a group in a revival of the ‘Su:Pearls.’
The Su:Pearls was a team that was originally comprised of Lee Michelle, Lee Jung Mi, Lee Seung Joo and K-Pop Star’s winner, Park Ji Min, and made headlines for their rendition of Fame and SNSD’s The Boys.
Though original member Park Ji Min signed with JYP Entertainment, it was revealed first place runner-up Lee Ha Yi would take her spot as a member of the revived Su:Pearls. In addition, YG said it planned to release a solo album for Lee Ha Yi as well.
Regarding the new Su:Pearls, a YG Entertainment representative said, “We plan to continue to use the Su:Pearls name but haven’t decided if Lee Ha Yi’s solo album will come out first or if the Su:Pearls will. Of course, we are contemplating the solo acts of the other [Su:Pearls] members as well.”
