He needs to sit and work on his relevance before bringing down Britney and Demi, two pop stars that are more powerful and have made more money than him.
Who cares how much someone sells? Does that mean every person who bought those albums are still fans? Obviously not. Imagine how different this industry would be if no one ever reveald record sales. Things would just exist, and we'd discuss how good someone sounded or how much they loved the music video or how the album is amazing, instead of bragging about how many 13 year olds bought an album 3 times in 1999 or something.
to say britney can't sing is stupid. She can sing, she has proven several times she can't sing, just because she doesn't shove it down people's throats all the time doesn't mean she can't sing.
the reason why people talk about sales, it's because sales is what matters in this industry.
that's not really what I was talking about. but it's close. if we didn't care about record sales so much, we would only care about things like singing for example and brag about beautiful performances and the like and our judgements about what a good singer is may not be clouded by knowing that a lot of other people bought an album. we could make out own assumptions about success.
Receipts are receipts whether they're old or new. It's called achievements. Why should we not talk about our faves continued growing list of them?
That's not the point I was making. What's sad is that someone can come for Britney's performance skills and y'all will bring up her album sales from 2000, or her performances from the ABC special in 2004.
The clear picture is that y'all are living in the past, which is tragic.
