Why are we even talking about "I Kissed a Girl" anyway? I mentioned Katy as well,but I acknowledged that "Hot 'n' Cold" (which was pre-Gaga) also had a part in the dance-pop takeover. IKAG is more heavily influenced by pop-rock; theres relatively little dance influence compared to HC. The onyl other thing I said is that Katy's dance-influenced singles my not have done as well as they did without Gaga (and BEP) popularizing the dance-pop style further.

That song isn't even on the US version of the album. How can it influence US music industry without brig released in the US?

Yes, especially with the song Born This Way.
Might be reductive, but still brings incredibly monumental lyrics to the industry.

And dance music was suddenly mass-popularized once Gaga hit the scene.
Not to mention the sudden influx of singular female artists.

IKAG was not bashed because of it's production but the message of the song (as you say so)
When you claim Gaga brought back dance pop, which is a genre, it only concerns the songs production and NOT the lyrics/

In that sense "Like a Prayer" had no musical impact due to its sound .

It only had due to the religious , bombastic video .
Still , it is considered as one of Madonna's most influential song .

The video , the lyrics and the sound are ALL part of the song .

Videos are the visualisation of the song.
Since videos are part of the music culture , then yes , we have to take music videos into account.
