SPRINGBREAKERS
One of the more intriguing projects hitting the Cannes Film Festival market next week will be Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers. It's intriguing because the experimental Korine is not the sort of filmmaker you expect behind a project involving Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, Heather Morris and spring break debauchery, especially when one of his more recent films was about elderly people who hump trash. Then again, humping trash and spring break may have more in common than one might think, so maybe this film makes complete sense -- who knows?
Written and directed by Korine, Spring Breakers follows four college girls who rob a restaurant in order to fund their spring break trip, only to land in jail upon their arrival.
When a drug and arms dealer (James Franco) bails them out in return for a few favors, things ... get a little freaky.
Check out the first set of official promo stills from Spring Breakers, which show off a rowdy group of girls who look to be wearing bikinis for the film's entire running time. No word yet on release date, though we've heard
