EPISODE 2012
TILL THE WORLD ENDS:
As the holidays come into practice, it's almost time for the biggest holi-dooms day of the year: 2012. Films have been made, epic dance songs have smashed talking about the Mayans' destructive teas, but now it's time to encounter your fate. As a next top member, you always have to think ahead and think of the future. Your challenge is simple: Explain what you would do from now until the world ends if you know the end was near. It could be funny list, it could be unique and interesting story, it could be very serious and personal writing about what you need to accomplish in life still to feel fulfilled.. just express yourself.

EPISODE 9
Your Last(?) Supper
It’s time to impress once again, but be prepared to reach into your wallet this time around! For this exciting new challenge, you’ll be treating all the judges to dinner! After all, how can you be a top member if you can't even host a decent soirée? Will you be taking us out to a snazzy Thai restaurant? Order some pizza in and have a fun gaming session? Starve us all and play the Mandarin version of 'Girlfriend' on loop? Remember, it's all about how you plan to cater to our (possibly different) tastes while also giving us a clear idea of what you'd consider a good time!
Get creative!

EPISODE 9
Make Me Notorious
Welcome to the ninth challenge Top Member contenders!
In this challenge, it's time to put your reputation or in other words, notoriety to the test. As a Top Member it's important to not only be well known, but to well known for one's contributions to ATRL. Among the range of contributions a Top Member can engage in, the most common form is creating threads which stand the test of time.
We've seen countless threads come and go. Some are glossed over and pegged as uninteresting, or stupid. Others are flamebait. However, there are those threads which stand the test of time (which on ATRL is a few days to a week) that incite active discussion and participation. Take a look at the ATRL Index, and pinpoint the threads which are inciting the most discussion and are lasting more than a few days on ATRL without being locked or fading into obscurity. A Top Member should be able to make a thread that attracts the great ATRL population, and rockets them to one of the most active threads of the day.
Your challenge for this week is to create a thread in the Lounge section that facilitates the most discussion regardless of topic. While your total thread views and replies will be taken into account with the judges, the content and facilitation of discussion within your thread will also factor into our scores. If your thread is somehow closed before the challenge ends, you are NOT allowed to make another one.
So, will your notoriety that you've built thus far in the competition hinder your chances of creating that "hit thread" and proving your status on ATRL, or will it hinder it damning your thread as irrelevant and fading it into obscurity?
You have until Tuesday, May 7th, 2013 at 6 PM US Central Time to create your thread. Please send me a link to your thread once it's been created. In addition, you have untiI Sunday, May 12, 2013 at 9 PM US Central Time for your threads to be considered for the competition.
Notoriously Yours,
- Ammer

ATRL's NEXT . . .
BOTTOM MEMBER

Throughout the entire experience playing this game, each challenge has in some way shape or form, been about making yourself look like an amazing atrl member, and to try and hide your personal flaws. Every challenge has been about showing yourself off as being great. This challenge is different. This challenge will be about making yourself vulnerable . . .
Instead of building yourself up, I want you to break everything about yourself down. I want you to explain to the judges why you do not deserve the title of top member and list some of your flaws.
Specifically, this is what this challenge will require:
1. A complete list of 5-10 reasons why you don't deserve to win this game.
- Who is a better competitor than you in this game?
- What challenges do you feel you could have done better on?
- etc.
2. Explain one of your flaws in real life, in detail.
- Go in depth about one of the flaws you experience in your every day life, whether it be shyness, depression, drug abuse, etc.
- What is one flaw that makes you, who you are.
3. Rate yourself from an F to an A on how well you believe you have performed in this game.
- Be honest with yourself.
- Don't be overly humble though.
All entries should be turned in by May 12th at 11:55 PM
(If you have a conflict please notify me or one of the judges)
THANK YOU.

EPISODE 10
TEENAGE DREAM IS ABOUT ALCOHOLISM
(AND DRUG ABUSE):
If you visit the website SongMeanings.net, you'll often find some completely off-base, strangely compelling song interpretations. So, let's make a challenge out of it. Write your own unique, strangely compelling song interpretation that goes against the generally accepted meaning of the tune.
The best ATRL members are independent thinkers who can make their thoughts interesting, accessible, and convincing. This challenge puts that ability to the test while still being fun and playful. Think outside the box, but make sure your interpretation makes sense and could possibly be true. Rethink a popular tune and wow us with your distinctive genius. Creativity is key.
To help you get an idea of what is expected, check out this basic sample entry that explains the challenge title:
Example Entry
Quote:
Teenage Dream is written from the point of view of a 30-something alcoholic with a drug addiction. The lyrics lay it out for us.
Katy begins her ode to drugs and alcohol with "You think I'm pretty / Without any make-up on / You think I'm funny / When I tell the punch line wrong," praising her two vices for treating her well even though she's become a broken down, unfunny mess in their company. She then admits "things were kinda heavy" before her booze "brought [her] to life." Soon, the illegal substances she once used to escape the heaviness of life became her only friend, as evident in the lonely line "Now every February / You'll be my valentine."
Soon, it becomes apparent that she has lost all self-awareness and hope of returning to her previous sobriety ("Let's go all the way tonight / No regrets, just love / We can dance until we die"). She clings to a false delusion of youth and liveliness that her drugs feed her ("You and I / We'll be young forever," "You make me / feel like I'm living a teenage dream"). She's doing some pretty hardcore drugs, and they prevent her from functioning normally ("I can't sleep") while endangering her health ("My hearts stops / when you look at me"). She's tripping on a delusion she longs to believe in ("Just, one, touch / Now baby I believe / This, is, real").
In the later half of the song, she tells the story of one of her more memorable drug and alcohol induced trips. "[She] drove to Cali / And got drunk on the beach" before indulging her high with insane, childish acts when she "Got a motel and / Built a fort out of sheets."
Ultimately, she sees her bad habits as the key to her happiness: "I finally found you / My missing puzzle piece / I'm complete." Katy is not some teenage girl with a high libido, she is a woman ravished by drug and alcohol abuse, struggling to hold onto a chemically induced happiness and the last bits of her fleeting youth.
I could go on. And that, my friends, is why Teenage Dream deserved a Grammy.

Hmm. I know how I will rank all the entries right away, but I'm a bit unsure of who I'll say for the toughest and weakest competition.

ANGELO's OPINION
It's not counted guys! Don't worry lol!
DvnR
It looked fun but nothing special. I expected more. It kinda feels like a beauty pageant question too hahah!
Vulps
The photo is funny and I give you points on that but the challenge feels like it should be in ATRL's Apprentice not ATRL's Next Top Member!
Ammer
I told you last round you are becoming predictable and the challenge you sent this round are the main challenge of the finales since cycle 1. You need to review your top member history 101! You might be eliminated because of that . There are only few members who are still on the running and anything can happen.
TheGeoKing
I like it! It's cheesy but fierce at the same time! Good job!
Evun
Wow! For me this will be the most difficult challenge to date! I love it! You are doing really great in this competition! For me you are a frontrunner! Keep it up!

The only member I could see smizing and male booty tooching is Devin (DvnR). I think Ammer could if he got a little wild. Honest opinion

Do I need to remind you of how epic and unbeatable my smize was in my entry two episodes ago?
Viewers were on the edge of their seats and calling their moms to tell them to tune in when it almost got me eliminated.

I was unaware this was used as an actual challenge. However, I apologize but I honestly do not have the time to scan through previous cycles and its respective challenges.
If I may say something in my defense, I feel without the knowledge of previous challenges, I was still able to come up with a viable challenge that is apparently used within Top Member. I feel that attests to the strength of my capability of creating a challenge that can be used within a cycle (without any prior knowledge mind you), which was the entire purpose of the challenge.
Just my two cents.
