If Hollywood movie makers ever decide to remake the 1978 classic “Grease,” like they have done with “Footloose” and are doing with “Dirty Dancing,” Olivia Newton-John has one person in mind to play the iconic character of Sandy and that person is Taylor Swift.
In a recent interview with “Showbiz Tonight,” the actress discussed the possibility of the movie’s remake.
“I’m sure they’ll try [a remake], and I think it would probably do well because people would be curious,” she said. “But there’s something about the originals… that people still want to see. But I’m sure they’ll do it, and they’ll do an updated version, and it’ll be great.”
When the show’s host A.J. Hammer asked Olivia who she’d like to see play her part of Sandy, she barely hesitated before giving her answer.
“Lately, I’ve thought Taylor Swift could probably do it, because she’s very talented,” she revealed.
She also has another person in mind. “And my daughter, I’ve always thought she could,” she added.
It’s tough to remake a classic, but if they did, we think Swift would make a great Sandy. How about you?
