It's alright if you like only one song out of the list (I dislike 7/10) but IU's songs are basic beyond belief (same with the majority of Korean ballads imo), I can't stand her high-pitched tone. Way too overrated.

I agree that the majority of Korean ballads are insipid and cliche-filled etc. But You & I isn't even ballad IMO (I mean, it is quite fast) and it is quite great. It is melodically (and lyrically but that goes without saying) stronger than almost every song I heard watching Music Bank last Friday!

I understand your problem though, her tone isn't the most beautiful out there. Can be pretty annoying at times.

Her music is so tacky and terrible in general, I can't listen to any of her songs in full.

Mid-tempo's included, but yeah Korean ballads are almost identical (esp. those OST's), same structure, tired melodies, and vocal techniques.
