I think he will transition successfully. Very well, actually. He's looking older and has been maturing for a while (along with his voice) and as long as his new album still has that growth of maturity (which, according to all of the producers and people who have heard the songs, it has) then there's nothing to worry about. I'm not worried because I know he's gonna do fine.
The main problem is having the radios acknowledge him. They're too worried that their audience will dislike him, yet that's not giving them a chance to like his new stuff. The presenters, DJ's etc have been hyping BF up after hearing it but I'm not sure how well his radio performance is going to go. Hopefully good.
JB says he enjoys being underestimated and enjoys being the underdog but I don't think it's a good thing at all.
