I just stated my two cents though, of course there's a 50/50 chance I'll be proved wrong. But history repeats itself you know. By the way, who is that hot man in your avatar

Rihanna is only 24, but she's already accomplished so much in so little time, even if she's not as critically acclaimed as Beyonce. Beyonce accomplished a lot too, but at 30, she's too far into her career to have a Thriller moment. She tried countless times, and even hailed as the "second coming of Michael Jackson" but that really didn't make an impact, just outrage from Michael Jackson fans.
Rihanna is just starting to make her impact in the business and, in my opinion she'll be on the same league as Madonna years from now, just because She's just IS. In 20 years, she'll be more successful and more respected than Beyonce. She doesn't try hard to be the biggest popstar out there. Madonna doesn't try hard, she's just Madonna, she's repulsive, provoking, and controversial.. She's upfront and outspoken, and that came with sincerety. Rihanna is exactly like Madonna in the same vein that she just wants to have fun with her music. She doesn't want to be the next Michael Jackson, or God.
Compare Beyonce's first 24 years with Rihanna's first 24 years. Then you'll see the clear distinction in their careers, don't compare "now", Compare relatively.
Beyonce may have an advantage with Destiny's child sales, but Rihanna has the upper hand with regards to concert sales. If I remember, I don't think Destiny's Child was a tour powerhouse back in their hayday.
Rihanna at age 24 is 10x more succesful as Beyonce's first 24 years.

Madonna is a highly acclaimed artist, though. Just because she likes to provoke doesn't mean all she's cared about is mindless catchy music. LAP and ROY were both hailed as pop masterpieces by critics. Confessions, Celebration and Music are all at 80+ on Metacritic. Even her lowest-rated album there still ranks higher than TTT. But I can understand the Madonna-Rihanna comparisons.

And Beyonce is more than a popstar, you know that.

Well today we can say that, but you have to admit that Rihanna is only 24 years old. So much things can happen in the next 6 years of her career. Beyonce is 30 years old so technically she'll be ahead of the game because she's been around more longer. But like I said, compare them relatively by their age, not what they are now.

She is, but she's criticized more than she's acclaimed in the 90s although today is a different story.
I was pointing out the rivalry she had with Mariah around 95-96 though.

You can only compare by age if they started out at the same age, they did not.

Okay then, even if Rihanna's behind the age game, she's rapidly catching up on Beyonce's achievements. Beyonce is already 30, she's got to slow down soon. She can't reinvent herself. She's not Madonna in a sense that she's not comfortable going out of her comfort zone. I'm not talking about "4" risk. I'm talking about the real risks, real risks Madonna took in her career. The risks that garnered all the negativity. But through it all, she reinvented her self over and over again, and it's why she's the biggest female pop star standing. Rihanna is still too young to slow down. In my opinion she's just starting out. Only 24 years old and already 100M gross on Loud tour? That's just astronomical. And she's like a chameleon, because she can camouflage herself perfectly in mainstream music and just keeps on rolling those hits after hits. True, TTT may not be selling as much in the states, but the USA is just one market. There are other markets out there.

It did. I don't have the receipt.. I'm a lamb so you'll have to dial the Navy hotline for the receipts. But you can't deny that Rihanna's just as succesful as Beyonce now even if Beyonce's more respected and acclaimed.

Why are you even comparing them to Madge/Mariah?

Beyonce= Whitney, whereas Rihanna = Mariah.
I love Mariah more than Whitney, but although she had a more successful commercial career than Whitney she was always 2nd fiddle to her in a sense.

I would agree, but Beyonce is not as respected as Whitney, and will never have the same legacy as her, because whatever impact Beyonce may try to do, Whitney already has done it.

Then why would you say that Rihanna could have the same impact as Madonna?

Because like I said, Rihanna doesn't try to be something. She's just doing it for the music.
