I know what you mean. Her music wasn't very sonically innovative - the whole R&B/jazzy thing was pretty common back in the 80s. But no one sang lke she did, so while her production might have been less-than-innovative, her voice and vocal style was truly groundbreaking and fresh.

No one's dragging Adele, it's just ridiculous that she's that high after ONE huge album (and I know 19 sold well too) and being here for only 4 years. Shouldn't Shania Twain and Alanis be top 5 alone from those merits then?

If you look at the list for more then 10 seconds it's entirely clear this isn't true. They put the most popular/iconic artists near the top and Britney should have at least made top 10 being that she was truly the icon of the 00's (I don't stan for her but it's true)

Not the right song to post since I think she made the song worse, the original was perfect as it was. She has better and way more emotional songs in her catalog. But I do agree with you that she deserves more respect and recognition around here.
