No. I think people are saying she's flopping because of her positions which have slipped but she's still keeping up quite good sales-wise and she rose this week. I do admit, I thought it would be bigger but maybe my expectations were too high..
And it was obvious Milian would flop, it's not like she's become bigger since her last album, so yeah. Didnt she debut with less than her last album too?

First of all, Rihanna, with the kind of single success that she has, should have sold more, as her album was uber promoted. Anyways, why must you guys bring Christina Milian into a topic about Rihanna, when it is obvious that Christina is much better, especially vocally (even looks-wise)? Also, "So Amazin'" actually debuted 1 spot higher than "It's About Time."

I was thinking about this... I wouldn't necessarily call Rihanna's album a flop, but considering the huge onslaught of hit singles I did expect that it would hold up better than it has. Then again, she is clearly a singles artist... a few hits (or just ONE if we're talking her first album) and the rest is filler, just like her first album. In such cases, people buy one or two good songs on iTunes and ditch the whole album.
In terms of Christina Milian, I loved "Dip It Low" so I bought "It's About Time" but it sucked hardcore in my opinion. I'm not a fan of "Say I" so I had no interest in her piece of trash album. I hope she does well with it though.
Vocally, I don't think it can be argued that Rihanna is stronger than Christina Milian (don't get me started). Even though Christina is lightyears away from a textbook "strong" singer, she can sing circles around Rihanna any day of the week.

People need to stop comparing these two. Milian is super talented and she makes hot music ,I don't call her album a flop ,since she's not whoring everywhere ,her single has died a long time before the album comes out. She might improve with a second single.
Rihanna is a talentless ***** with the most annoying voice a human can have , her music isn't developing at all . she sucks at everything and her album is a complete F-L-O-P !!!!!! , C'mon ! her trashy single is the number one in the country and she still cant sell more copies?! Now ,that's pathetic and she deserves that with no drop of a doubt.

Uh, No. The album is averaging 50k a week. And the bigger "Unfaithful" will get, the bigger the album will become. Some you also need to observe international sales. Rihanna's "A Girl like Me" is doing very well internationally.

I am real happy to call myself a Rihanna fan
It's good to see that her album actually sold more this week and moved up one the billboard.
This is much better than her last album because MOTS kept dropping after the release.
And was certified gold earlier this year, while AGLM will soon be gold!
I am just glad to see her actually succeeding!!
And i like C.Milian's album, its ok, but i prefer her first album though.
Also, That's not a good first week sales for Milian, either. Wow, im actually surprised.
I thought she would have been in the top 5, top 10 the least.

Brian, tell me if you agree with this analogy:
Rihanna is to the US: Rachel Stevens is to the UK. Pretty apt, right?

No. It's selling much better than her last album, and sales aren't dropping drastically like Pink, & Avant.
And So Amazin' is a flop. I don't see how some of you are saying that it isnt but AGLM is.

I don't understand this comparison Bart, unless you mean the "Sweet Dreams My LA Ex" comparison to "S.O.S." (Rescue Me) not saving "Funky Dory" and "A Girl Like Me" from flopping as an album? Is that wut it is?
@ Dani, that's possible...I'm not sure if she sold more?

That's very good! But, to take it a little further:
They're both two sort of pretty, sort of talented girls who have been given more chances than they deserve. It's sort of funny that people expect either of them to do well as artists.

First of all, "A Girl Like Me" will be gold in a couple of weeks...You guys must understand...The album has shipped over 750,000 copies worldwide in three going on four weeks...with sales up to almost 600,000 worldwide....She is doing great!!! By this time of year and the non-multi format has a lot to do with it too..She is being arketed toward urban radio now as well...She will end up selling 3 to 4 (maybe even more)million worldwide at the end of the day...Def Jam is gonna release 4 to 5 singles off this album...so Rihanna's only just begun...If she could keep 50k or more a week for the next few weeks, then she surely go Platinum by July...Ooooh..I forgot.."Break It Off" w/ Sean Paul is the next single...this gonna explode abroad and here for the summer....It's only just begun for Ri-Ri.....Anyone that does not have the album get it!!! "Final Goodbye", "We Ride", and "Dem Haters" are my joints!!!! LOLOLOL!!

The reason people see "AGLM' as a flop is because she ahs the #1 song in the country, and anotehr song that will probably hit #1 as weel. But her album sales have done nothing but fall since she debuted. She's at about 40k sold on just her 4th or 5th week?
Christina on the other hand has not had a huge single. Say I had very minor success. She still sold 50k with no promo that I saw. Whos Gonna Ride, So Amazing, or Gonna Tell Everybody could all be bigger hits than Say I. All she needs to do is release them.
As I said before, her first album had about 2 good songs (the singles), and this album has plenty of good songs.
Neither are really flops in my opinion though.
