And if they wanted it as a single since it's the second best song on the album, it should have been the 6th one or something. NOT the most important single of the era, which is the one right before the album release.

At least Judas did pretty decent worldwide. Not to mention it has the best instrumental in the album

She probably wasn't even going for the success this era ( well, probably some). I think the main purpose for releasing the album was for the fans, not the success.

I don't think she should make her albums thinking of that, but there's no reason to release the most controversial songs when there are much safer choices.

I think she chose BTW and Interscope chose Judas to make up for any damage it did (yes, it was a worldwide hit, but it wasn't exactly 'Gaga' like Judas was).

Singles are made to sell albums not themselves. So if anything I'm sure they thought it would showcase the darker side of the album. Yeah she ****ed up releasing it on Easter weekend. But that's her and interscope's fault for not being patient and waiting for a full release week.
