In a recent interview, she said it's a metaphor. I suppose it's "in the club" judging by the nature of the song.

Radio 1 (the biggest station) boycott all her music. Despite that, Start Without You was #1 for two weeks.

They didn't like her because she was affiliated with X Factor. It's weird though because they put Bad Boys on their A-List playlist, and Broken Heels went on their B-List (I think?). Then All Night Long came out and they basically blanked it, despite being one of the most radio friendly songs of 2010. Finally Start Without You came out and they completely shunned it, like it wasn't played at all on the station. Then when SWY went to #1 one of the DJ's from Radio 1 went on Twitter and was like 'do people actually like that rubbish?', or something along those lines. They supported her at first but that support dwindled out of nowhere.
